Legislative Branch

The Legislative branch, of which there are two groups, writes laws on a bill. So they can be sent to the senate, then to the Representatives and finally to the President. Who can veto or sign it. When a bill is written, a simple majority is needed to make it law.


There are 435 Representatives and 100 Senators all together there are 535 members of Congress. A senator serves 6 years, however a representative only serves 2 years.

The Constitution got started in 1787. The first ten Amendments are called The Bill of Rights
