Referral Bonus: The amount to be paid to the referring source that referred the suitable applicant and the applicant was a successful hire.

Applicant: A person who is applying from outside of the agency for an open position

Purpose

Defines the process and steps to follow for the Employee Referral Bonus Program which provides an incentive for GovC employees to assist the Company in its recruitment efforts.

Policy

All current and former employees are eligible to participate in the Employee Referral Program except for GovC Officers, Vice Presidents, Executive Directors and Human Resources Staff. Each business unit is authorized to establish or not establish the employee referral bonus program.

Procedures

In order for an open position to be eligible for the employee referral bonus program, the recruiter or hiring manager must indicate the eligibility status on the requisition opened in the web based recruiting system. This ensures that the referring employee will know which positions are eligible for a bonus.

The recruitment referral bonuses are to be paid to the referral source subsequent to the employee’s initial hire date. Payment will be made on the next administratively possible payroll date following the referred employee’s date of hire.

It is important to note that for positions requiring clearances, the referral amount is based on the clearance level held by the candidate at the time an offer is made. Each business unit is authorized to establish their own employee referral bonus amount within the given bonus range below.
