Components of Billing Systems

Structure and Internal Control

  • Billing Policies/Procedures. These are policies and procedures available to all employees.
  • Training and Education. This includes required or "core" training for all employees and all employees working on or with government contracts.

The [Billing] System

  • An established system (Accounting) of record. All invoices should be generated from the accounting system.
  • Reports from the system assist in ensuring the accuracy of invoices and proper billing.

The Contract

The contract governs the invoicing parameters.
