Government Contracting (GovC) Wiki

About

Last year the US Federal Government purchased over $500 Billion in goods and services. It is the world's largest consumer, and offers great potential and opportunities for companies to sell goods and services. The US Federal Government also has the most complex rules, regulations, and laws governing these purchases of goods and services. The myriad of rules and regulations can bewilder even the most experienced professional.

Selling to the US Government requires an understanding of these laws and regulations both from a compliance perspective, and business perspective.

GovCwiki, is a resource and knowledge source to help navigate the numerous Government Regulations.

Why use GovCwiki

Why use GovCwiki, when you can do your own research, googling and getting various information to assist in your research project. The internet is a powerful source, and in most cases get a researcher the information he/she needs. However, the internet as a research tool has limitations.

Quality and Accuracy of Information

Due to the quantities of data available and degrees of accuracy and quality, getting to accurate information, or drawing conclusions from the vast array of information can be challenging. GovCwiki pulls all the information together on a single site, that allows anyone to contribute, and anyone to correct inaccurate information. Because of the ability for collaboration on GovCwiki, an article to be compiled, re-compiled, edited, refined, countless times, until the information is of impeccable quality. That is not to say it is impeccable when it is first produced, but once an inaccuracy is discovered, it can be easily corrected.

Relevance

The internet also can be problematic in terms of relevance. Users researching a project may spend hours pouring over documents trying to find a document that is directly and entirely relevant to the information being sought. GovCwiki sole purpose is to provide relevant information, easy to navigate to, providing individuals with a quick resource.

Data Repository allowing Users to Interact

Internet based repositories do not allow for users to interact, asking questions of each other, emailing the author of an article directly, or the ability of individuals to collaborate on a project. GovCwiki has all of those features and more.

Source Data

Wikis can readily link source data, and provide references to the information being communicated, so GovCwiki can direct you to the appropriate source data for expanded research or verification of the information.

Setting up Preferences, Watchlist, and Other Useful Tools

In addition to a source of information, GovCwiki has the ability for you to set up watchlists so when a rule or regulation changes that is relevant to your organization, you are automatically alerted. For more on the tools available on GovCwiki so to GovCwiki - Getting Started
